Interactive Films.
September 29, 2010
Here is a link to a Chris Milk directed music video using the latest single from Arcade Fire. It requires that you type in your post code and using Google Map images, creates a interactive video with multiple screens of a faceless character running through your road.
Though the top down visuals look a little bit flat and unflattering it does promise much for the film of cinema with interactivity. Reading an article on Little White Lies’ website, which is a great source of information, illuminates just how cinema is getting closer to offering interactive films. Because from an advertising point of view its a brilliant way of demonstrating your latest product.
Below is a youtube video of the entire music video, obviously the street view stuff is just a generic but still it shows what it’s all about.
Also ‘A Hunter Shoots a Bear’

You’ll have to watch it on youtube but its an advertisement for tippex in which the Hunter in the video tippexs out the Shoots part of the title and allows the viewer to add whatever word they want to create a new scenario. It has about 50 different possibilities and is totally brilliant.
